Embedded Software & Tools Analysts

Chris is responsible for syndicated research and consulting engagements focused on embedded software, hardware, and development solutions. He has worked with wide variety of clients supporting a range of projects including competitive analyses, strategic marketing initiative support, ecosystem development strategies, and vertical market opportunity assessments. Chris’s prior research also includes studies on multicore components and tools, operating systems, software development tools, and software/system lifecycle management tools, among others.

Chris holds a B.A. in Business Economics and a B.A. in Public and Private Sector Organization from Brown University.

Steve has more than nine years experience conducting market research studies and managing all of the market research programs for VDC’s Embedded Software and Development Tools practice. His project-related experience is diverse and includes coverage of a number of embedded software technologies for syndicated research including embedded operating systems, software development tools, java, databases, and Linux, Windows Embedded, market statistics, and test automation tools. Steve has also conducted and managed consulting research projects focusing on market and technology assessments, product and channel development initiatives, market penetration, competitive analyses, and due diligence support for M&A activity. Steve has deep knowledge of a wide range of embedded software technologies, their applications, and related customer requirements through his years of market coverage. Prior to working for VDC, Steve worked for more than thirty years in the information technology sector developing software, sales, and business development. Steve holds a BSBA from Eastern Nazarene College.

André brings valuable perspective to the market research and consulting of the Embedded Software and Tools team, having previously worked in both VDC’s Telecom and Embedded Hardware practices as well as gaining important experience at Smarter Grid Consulting. His wide-ranging background includes opportunity sizing and forecasting, market and technology assessments, competitive analysis, strategic marketing assistance, and M&A due diligence support. André has conducted research studies involving software and system lifecycle management tools, communications hardware and software, embedded boards and systems, smart grid technologies, and mobility solutions. Prior to joining VDC, André held positions in management, account development, and network operations at a number of telecommunications service providers and engineering firms including Genuity, Global Crossing, HarvardNet, and Henkels & McCoy.

André holds a B.A. (magna cum laude) in Philosophy and a B.A. in Sociology from Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts.

Jared supports all of the Embedded Software and Tools practice’s major research programs and is a contributor on custom research and consulting engagements. His work includes coverage of embedded operating systems, software development tools, modeling and test tools, and more. Prior to joining VDC, Jared was a research analyst at Eduventures, Inc., where he developed and conducted custom research projects for colleges and universities nationwide in the area of enrollment management. He has additional research experience in education and financial services. Jared received an MBA from Babson College in 2007, and graduated from Bentley College in 2002 with a BS in Information Design and Corporate Communication.

Bob has a diverse sales, business development and account management background.  His 25+ years of technology-industry experience includes selling mission critical business continuity solutions and consulting services to large enterprise organizations.  He also has extensive channel management experience targeting the small and medium-sized business (SMB) market.  Bob has been involved in delivering solutions for data recovery, managed IT hosting, storage and security.  Before joining VDC, Bob worked for industry giants including SunGard and Hewlett Packard along with smaller regional organizations like Cranel and Winchester Systems.  Bob is a graduate of the University of Hartford with a BS degree in Electronic Engineering.
